Position Summary
The Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management reports directly to the President and is the Chief Enrollment Officer responsible for providing executive guidance direction and policy formation for enrollment management functions at Sacramento State. As a member of the Presidents Cabinet this position participates in institution-wide planning and supports the universitys mission and goals through strategic leadership of a comprehensive enrollment management unit.
The VP provides direct leadership and oversight across multiple units: Enrollment Operations Admissions and Outreach Financial Aid/Scholarships Office of University Registrar Imaging Data Processing and Student Services Center & Financial Wellness including other areas related to admissions and outreach such as international programs. The position provides comprehensive direction and oversight to ensure consistent approaches and streamlined operations across all departments within the unit. Additionally the VP has full fiscal responsibility for developing and overseeing large and complex budgets with multiple funding sources aligning resources with strategic priorities and maximizing effectiveness across all initiatives projects and departments.
The position works closely with the Provost and the Academic Affairs Division to enrich the student learning experience both in and outside the classroom. Collaborative efforts with the Provost Academic Deans and faculty are essential to ensure effective planning results in the Universitys enrollment goals being met across all academic areas of study. This role requires extensive coordination with other Vice Presidents and divisional leaders to streamline services remove barriers enhance equity and inclusion support student success experiences and shape enrollment growth in support of the universitys strategic plan and financial sustainability.

Anticipated Hiring Range:$21667 per month - $25000 per month commensurate with the candidates education experience skills and training.

Experience
2. Five (5) years of leadership experience in enrollment management chief marketing or a closely related field.
3. Experience developing and executing comprehensive brand strategies and positioning that drive increased lead generation improved audience conversion (moving prospects to customers) or enhanced market share in competitive environments.
4. Experience with fiscal and personnel management in complex organizational environments.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
5. Knowledge of brand management and reputation building; ability to leverage Sacramento States designation and student success programs to develop comprehensive enrollment marketing campaigns that drive measurable enrollment growth.
6. Ability to conduct comprehensive market analysis and population assessments to inform strategic enrollment planning and achieve sustainable student body composition across diverse demographics including traditional students adult learners international populations working professionals and specialized pipeline programs.
7. Knowledge of and understanding of youth culture trends and generational marketing approaches; ability to adapt enrollment strategies based on emerging trends and optimize student journey touchpoints from awareness to enrollment.
8. Demonstrated familiarity with current and emerging technologies relevant to enrollment management such as CRM systems predictive analytics digital marketing platforms and generational-oriented communication channels; ability to evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance recruitment effectiveness.
9. Understanding of sensitivity and commitment to educational equity within the context of enrollment management ensuring inclusivity and diversity in student recruitment and retention efforts.
10. Ability to think clearly and execute sound decision-making under tight deadlines or high-stress situations.
11. Demonstrated ability to build and direct complex financial human resources and management information systems relevant to enrollment management.
12. Possess expertise in political acumen; knowledge of and ability to understand governance structures particularly as they relate to enrollment management decision-making processes and stakeholder engagement.
13. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral; ability to foster collaboration and engagement between internal/external constituencies.
14. Ability to develop strategic partnerships with K-12 districts community colleges employers and community organizations.
15. Demonstrated passion and commitment to the mission vision and values of Sacramento State.
16. Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty students staff and members of the community.
PreferredQualifications
17. Experience implementing successful enrollment growth strategies in higher education institutions resulting in increased student enrollment and retention rates.
18. Experience utilizing data analytics and research methodologies to inform enrollment management strategies and decisions leveraging insights to drive improvements in recruitment admissions and student success initiatives.
19. Experience in higher education administration including fiscal and personnel management in a unionized environment.
20. Experience implementing inclusive recruitment and retention strategies to support underrepresented student populations.
21. Thorough knowledge of enrollment management policies practices priorities and trends in the CSU system the state and the nation.
