Lipscomb University seeks a dynamic and experienced cardiovascular perfusionist to join our faculty as a full-time educator in the Cardiovascular Perfusion program. Within the context of a faith-based university setting this position involves teaching didactic courses instructing and overseeing student work in the simulation laboratory engaging in research and contributing to program development and accreditation activities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing the next generation of cardiovascular perfusionists through innovative teaching methods and clinical expertise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Education (85%)
- Teach didactic courses in cardiovascular perfusion theory principles and practice
- Develop and deliver curriculum in areas including cardiac anatomy and physiology perfusion technology hemodynamics blood management and patient safety
- Create and maintain course materials examinations and assessment tools
- Utilize various teaching modalities including simulation-based learning and case-based instruction
- Participate in student advising and career counseling
Scholarship and Service (15%)
- Engage in scholarly activities including research publications and presentations
- Participate in professional development activities and continuing education
- Serve on university and program committees
- Maintain active involvement in professional organizations
- Contribute to community outreach and professional service activities
Required Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Masters degree or higher from an accredited university
- Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited perfusion education program
- Current certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
- Maintenance of current CCP (Certified Clinical Perfusionist) credential
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical perfusion experience
- Previous teaching experience in perfusion training programs or related healthcare education
- Demonstrated knowledge of perfusion education standards and accreditation requirements
