Quality Engineer Summary: Responsible for supervising the Quality function at the plant level and ensuring adherence to the corporate Quality Management System (QMS). This role champions quality initiatives provides training analyzes quality data and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. The position also supports continuous improvement efforts and represents the Quality Department in plant projects while promoting corporate priorities of Safety Quality Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Corporate Quality Manager. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Studying and evaluating in-process parts and assemblies through the use of capability studies appropriate in process audits and statistical methods (when applicable) to ensure conformance to specifications.
2. Manage and collaborate with internal and external customers in the review of the effectiveness of the quality system material and finished goods storage finished goods packaging systems.

4. Providing employee training regarding quality documentation (forms work instructions and standard procedures) and other quality functions.
5. Direct the activities of the quality technician per corporate quality requirements and ensure that departmental quality inspectors are competent in measuring parts and fulfilling their quality system responsibilities.
6. Work with customers in response to quality escapes completion of customer corrective actions and 8Ds. Ensure customer required documents are returned according to required timelines.
7. Ensure customer required PPAPs FAI and other new product approval requirements are completed on time and accurately.
8. Provide support to the Sales department as required. 9. Work with Morrison Products Supply Chain Manager(s) and with suppliers to ensure products and materials are supplied that meet specifications. Manage supplier quality as directed including conducting supplier audits. 10. Participate in planning and budgeting to support local quality objectives
11. Review and initiate local quality forms and control plans and assist with or arrange any required English-Spanish translations. Advise when changes are necessary.
12. Manage capability studies the PPAP process administration of gage calibration & evaluation and Internal & External PPM reports.
13. Conducting Quality audits of other MPI plants as directed. 14. Assist with local projects as needed including participation in Kaizen events and project teams.

the scheduling of ISO audits including registration audits and surveillance audits. the scheduling of Management review including reminders and coaching to the organization.

4. Provide follow up to any ISO points identified in Management Review.
5. Provide follow up to any ISO findings in the external audits.
6. Work with other Quality Engineers and the Supply Chain Department to maintain a supplier performance history report.
7. Maintain a training matrix related to ISO/Quality requirements.
8. Coordinate with other Quality Engineers content and changes to the internal audits to meet ISO requirements and continuous improvement.
Supervisory Responsibility: Directly supervises the Quality Technician(s) at their home plant. Travel: Travel to other MPI facilities is required including occasional international travel. Travel to customer and supplier sites as needed. Confidentiality: Includes access to manufacturing equipment and processes product drawings product costs customer and supplier lists and process data. Experience Required: 5 years experience developing and managing the Quality System in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of corrective actions returned goods management PPAP data analysis mistake proofing problem solving tools and quality data collection systems.
Education Required: Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred. A Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred. Fluency in the English is required; fluency in Spanish is preferred.
