AGAT Laboratories is a full-service multi-national laboratory with locations across North America. Our scientists are highly-skilled and specialized in the fields of geochemistry biochemistry chemistry microbiology geology engineering and other specialty services. Summary:
AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for aLaboratory Technician to join our facility in Tempe AZ. This is an entry-level position where one can gain career experience in a laboratory with direction from the Laboratory Manager and other Laboratory team members as the team grows over time. The successful candidate will assist with administrative and basic laboratory activities.
Duties:
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples reagents and calibration solutions.
- Administrative support.
- Inventory management of laboratory supplies.
- Correspondence with vendors and manufactures.
- Research projects through assembly and analyses of date to prepare reports and documentation.
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
- Operate instruments with guidance from senior staff perform maintenance calibration and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic analysis as required.
- Report results.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education with a Chemical degree/diploma or equivalent experience.
- Basic office or administration experience.
- Previous work lab experience is an asset training will be provided.
- Strong English communication skills both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail with good organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
Work Environment: This position requires a person to stand sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
