Lake Technical College Institute of Public Safety
Responsible for instructing Law Enforcement and Corrections cadets in accordance with the standards and curriculum set forth by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). This includes delivering classroom instruction overseeing Physical Training (PT) and facilitating High Liability training blocks such as defensive tactics firearms driving and first aid.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach FDLE-mandated curriculum to Basic Recruit Training cadets in Law Enforcement and/or Corrections programs
Conduct and supervise daily physical training sessions
Instruct and evaluate cadets in High Liability areas (e.g. firearms defensive tactics vehicle operations and medical response)
Maintain accurate records of student attendance progress and performance
Ensure a safe and professional training environment
Assist in preparing cadets for the State Officer Certification Exam (SOCE)
Collaborate with academy staff to maintain FDLE compliance and program quality
Qualifications:
FDLE-certified Instructor (or eligible to obtain certification)
Proficiency in one or more High Liability instructional areas (Defensive Tactics Firearms Vehicle Operations First Aid)
Prior experience in Law Enforcement or Corrections strongly preferred
Strong communication leadership and organizational skills
