Perform diagnostics repairs and maintenance in accordance with GM factory standards.
Use GM-specific tools software (GDS2 TIS2Web) and procedures to accurately diagnose and resolve issues.
Complete repairs efficiently and correctly minimizing comebacks.
Stay up to date with GM certification and training requirements.
Provide guidance coaching and technical support to less-experienced technicians.
Help technicians understand GM systems tools and service procedures.
Lead by example through quality work and professional conduct.
Assist withskill development for new hires or apprentices.
Assist the Service Manager in assigning repair orders based on technician skill set bay availability and job priority.
Monitor the progress of repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
Support communication between technicians and service advisors regarding job status and issues.
Help maintain a smooth efficient and organized workflow throughout the shop.
Certification:
Current GM Certified Technician status required.
ASE Certifications required.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years as an automotive technician with recent GM-specific experience.
Prior leadership or mentorship experience preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Deep knowledge of GM diagnostics repairs and service protocols.
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Proficient with GM software and service information systems.
Fast-paced shop environment with frequent lifting bending and standing.
Must be able to lift 5075 lbs and operate standard automotive repair equipment.
May require occasional overtime or weekend shifts.
