$36000.00 AnnualGeneral Description / Primary Purpose: The Resolution Coordinator under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Students or above assists with the resolutionefforts of the Dean of Students Office primarily in student conduct and grade appeals record forgiveness Student Resolution Council membership and training and helping students resolve general concerns.
Job Functions:
Student Conduct & Grade Appeals
The Resolution Coordinator manages the Student Conduct appeal process which includes reviewing incoming appeal requests case management assigning appropriate appellate officers and ensuring a fair and neutral process.
The Resolution Coordinator manages the Grade Appeal process through case management and administratively supporting the University Grade Appeal Committee hearings and recommendation processing.
Guided Analysis
The Resolution Coordinator meets with students assigned to Guided Analysis sanctions which focus on outcome review and personal reflection along with educating students on accountability and decision-making.Additionally the Resolution Coordinator prepares all related correspondence and records for their caseload.
Record Forgiveness
The Resolution Coordinator manages the Student Record Forgiveness process as outlined within the Student Code of Conduct and administratively supports the Forgiveness Review sessions and recommendation processing.
Student Resolution Council
The Resolution Coordinator supports the Student Resolution Council recruitment and membership by assisting with outreach efforts reviewing applications and managing the training program and ongoing membership requirements for volunteer staff faculty and student members. The Resolution Coordinator communicates with members on a regular basis to inform them about their training and membership requirements and provides an updated active list to the Student Conduct team.
General Resolution
The Resolution Coordinator supports the Dean of Students Office by interacting with students seeking support or assistance in resolving various university situations. The Resolution Coordinator will use communication and conflict resolution skills to promote positive and productive outcomes.
Marginal Functions:
The Resolution Coordinator should understand FERPA the Clery Act VAWA Title IX and other local state and federal regulations and laws.
The Resolution Coordinator will also assist in the development of statistical and informational reports including dissemination of materials as necessary.
Maintains confidentiality of student records. Other duties as assigned.
Departmental Requirements:
This position requires knowledge and experience in Student Affairs as either an engaged undergraduate/graduate student or professional.
Supervision Exercised: The Resolution Coordinator assists in the supervision of the faculty/staff/student volunteers.
Supervision Received: The Resolution Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Students and will communicate on a regular basis to ensure their goals and work product aligns with the mission of the Dean of Students Office and the division.
Level of Public Contact: Contact with students faculty staff parents community members law enforcement etc. Serves on University-related and community committees and works cooperatively with colleagues on campus and at other institutions.
Policy-making and/or Interpretation: The Resolution Coordinator is responsible for understanding the Code of Conduct specifically related to the Student Resolution Council Forgiveness and Appeal processes to ensure compliance and process efficacy.
Program Direction and Development: Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Students in the development of policies and procedures for resolution areas of focus. Assists with the training and ongoing monitoring of student/faculty/staff conduct panels and for efforts to educate the University community about student academic and behavioral expectations and upholding University values. Assists with development of departmental written materials brochures and educational materials. Presents informational and educational programs.
Statement of Responsibility for Confidential Data:
The Resolution Coordinator shares responsibility with the Assistant Dean of Students and the Dean of Students for all confidential disciplinary records related to student participation in various programs through the Office of the Dean of Students.
The Resolution Coordinator may access educational records for students as needed to evaluate appropriate intervention or assistance for students. The Resolution Coordinator will have a thorough understanding of FERPA and federal and state laws regarding confidentiality and disclosure of student records.
Required Qualifications:
This position requires either:
(a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization;
(b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or
(c ) 6 years of direct experience.

This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA s responsibility is a duty to report.
