All about the role:
We are delighted to inform you of upcoming vacancies on the Trustee Board of The Wessex Partnership. This is the board of trustees for Brunel College an alternative provision in Salisbury. It caters for vulnerable children who are unable to succeed in mainstream schools across South Wiltshire.
Brunel College is a place where young people can learn through supportive interaction experience and success. We aim to provide a safe environment for both young people and staff so that the emphasis can be placed upon growing learning and fulfilling the potential that exists.

The role of the Trustee Board:
The schools Trustee Board is responsible for providing confident and strategic leadership and creating robust accountability oversight and assurance for the schools educational and financial performance.
Members of our Board are collectively passionate about education and committed to continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
The role is voluntary but the rewards are immense in knowing you have made a real difference.
The role of a Trustee:
As a Trustee youll work with other Trustees to ensure the Board effectively carry out the duties referred to above.
To be a Trustee you should have:
A strong commitment to the role and to improving outcomes for allstudents.
A passion for secondary education.
A willingness to challenge in a positive and constructive manner.
Good inter-personal skills curiosity and a willingness to learn and developnew skills.
A willingness to work with other Trustees.
Willingness to commit time to being an effective Trustee and engage specific skills required to ensure theTrustee Board delivers effective governance.
Expectations of Trustees:
If you join our Board of Trustees you will serve for a four-year term. Please be aware that being a Trustee does require time and commitment and is more than just attending meetings.
There are 6 full Board meetings per year and each Trustee will serve on one of three committees as well as perhaps taking on the Lead Trustee role for one of the strategic focus areas.
You will also need to set aside time to prepare for meetings visit the school support school events and undertake training. We do have meetings in person however to allow more flexibility for everyone to participate some meetings are held virtually via Teams.
