Job Description

General Information

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications for casual Building Maintenance Ice Maker I and Utility Worker opportunities in the West Cowichan Section of the Facilities & Transit Division within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Manager Facility Operations (West Cowichan) and supervised by the Building Maintenance Ice Maker II the Building Maintenance Ice Maker I performs a variety of routine tasks related to the operation maintenance and cleanliness of the facility operational equipment and machinery.

Qualifications

  • Secondary School graduation or the equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in facilities maintenance or the equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • WHMIS Certificate provided by employer
  • First Aid Level I with CPR
  • Refrigeration Operator Certificate (preferred) or Ice Facility Operator Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License
  • Trades certification would be an asset
