In the Human Interactive Driving team we are looking to build the future of intelligent vehicles that center the human experience. We do this by simultaneously working to understand human learning while also pushing the limits of what can be achieved with autonomous control. Then we bring the two elements together in a shared autonomy framework amplifying human potential.
This role would be part of a new Mobility 3.0 project that aims to bridge the gap between pure research and new product development. We will work closely with partners in Japan to rapidly prototype novel applications of innovative technology (including of course AI) to different types and scales of vehicles (including very small).
Responsibilities
Work across teams to ideate on novel concepts for computer vision applications including understanding and communicating the benefits and limitations of the current state-of-the-art and the sensitivity to data availability and quality.
Work multi-functionally with mechanical electrical and software engineers to build development and testing plans for computer vision components of larger integrated mechatronics projects.
Own the design development and deployment of computer vision systems for unique vehicle types.
Travel occasionally to engage in testing of experimental vehicles including to California and Japan.
Qualifications
MS in Computer Science or related field or BS 3-5 years of experience.
Experience in fine-tuning training and deploying ML computer vision systems.
Familiarity with the current state of the art for computer vision.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with real hardware e.g. robots with cameras is a huge plus.
Experience with ML infrastructure is a plus.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between$176000and$264000/year for California-based roles; however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Note that TRI offers a generous benefits package (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) and an annual cash bonus structure.
