Job Description

Description

We are searching for a Security Officer - this position you will provide a safe and secure environment during the shift within the boundaries of the assigned position and/or post. This position is an armed position and therefore requires the CSO to become familiar with the rules and regulations of the armed CSO the continual qualifications for proficiencies as well as the maintenance of the department-approved firearm. The officer will assist the general public staff or patients in all matters of safety and security.

Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED required
Licenses/Certifications:
LCSO - Commissioned Security Office within 90 days of entering position
CHSO - Basic HC Security Officer within 180 days of entering position
TDR - Texas Drivers License within 90 days of entering position
1 year experience in security law enforcement or military required
A Bachelors degree may substitute for the 1 year of required experience

Responsibilities:
Provide security functions at designated post locations
Patrol the Hospital(s) and/or Texas Childrens Community
Monitor traffic and parking
Operate Texas Childrens Hospital vehicles and other assigned duties
Respond to emergency situations
Attend and complete hospital and departmental required training
Periodically foot patrol specific buildings assigned observing visitors patient and staff for compliance to the organizations rules and protocol
Report any hazardous conditions and suspicious activity to the supervisor and dispatch.
Ensure that all emergency vehicles have ready access to Emergency Center dock for offloading of patients and provide assistance with helistop patient transport to inpatient areas
