Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior IT and Dev Ops Manager the ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical support to our users ensuring their systems and applications are functioning effectively. This role requires strong problem-solving skills a customer-oriented approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Location(s): The ideal candidate will be able to work onsite and be able to commute to both of our manufacturing plants with their own car and a valid drivers license: 335 Steelcase Road East (L3R 1G3) and 61 McPherson Street (L3R 3L3).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone email or in person.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware software and network issues for end-users.
- Document and track all support requests in the ticketing system ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
- Install configure and maintain computer systems printers and peripherals.
- Assist users with software applications and provide training as needed.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Perform regular system updates and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Create and update technical documentation and user guides.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in a help desk or technical support role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems as well as common software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office antivirus programs).
- Familiarity with networking concepts and basic troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with Zebra printer and other type of printers
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Intensive computer work and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse.
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours per day.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 lbs.
- Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Exposure to ink and chemical fumes and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder.
- Appearance at all times must represent the company image.
- Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
- Occasional additional hours may be required due to operational requirements.
