The Waterjet CNC Machine operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the machine to produce high-quality parts according to specified dimensions and tolerances. Working in the machine shop department you will be responsible for monitoring the production of parts to ensure quality and production standards. This role will run the Waterjet and deburring equipment occasionally and safely following 6-S procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities - Ability to read production instructions processes and procedures including interpreting and translating engineering designs and documentation.
- Set up and operate a CNC Waterjet machine (FLOW) using programs and layouts to cut and trim parts from various materials (copper aluminum steel plastic) according to specifications and with correct tolerances.
- Maintain the equipment perform daily and weekly TPM tasks and keep the TPM board up to date.
- Monitor production to ensure quality verify and inspect the product and machine the number of identical product units.
- Ensuring the equipment is in top operating order troubleshooting and resolving issues relating to the machine and alerting the supervisor of repairs when needed.
- Basic computer skills including using Labor Trak AutoCAD and data collection.
- Label identify and differentiate raw materials using various units of measurement including pounds per piece and feet.
- Understand job operations routings pick lists and precision measuring tools including tape measures dial calipers and gauge pins.
- Using other equipment such as cranes slings and vacuum lifts safely and adequately.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean safe and orderly working environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications - Good handeye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Comfortable using the metric system and being mechanically inclined.
- Reading and comprehending blueprints as well as understanding G and M codes are preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and follow verbal and written directions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Work Environment - Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise and temperature variations.
- Walking and standing on the Plant floor.
- Frequently required to sit climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without help.
Education and Experience - High School Diploma GED or equivalent.
- One to three years of assembly CNC mill or lathe operator experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills AutoCAD experience preferred
