Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Johor based Cost Accountant to join our client in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector. This role plays a critical part in overseeing financial reporting cost analysis and inventory control within a fast-paced high-precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals a proactive mindset and a solid understanding of costing in a production-driven setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities including detailed cost analysis and explanation of variances.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports (monthly quarterly annually) in accordance with accounting standards.

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to uphold accuracy and integrity of financial records.

  • Monitor daily cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for ongoing business operations.

  • Facilitate both internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation and ensuring adherence to financial policies and statutory requirements.

  • Contribute to inventory management including annual stock counts and reconciliation ensuring reliable inventory reporting.

  • Provide supervision training and support to junior accounting team members to drive performance and collaboration.

  • Handle other financial or administrative tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

  • At least 5 years of practical accounting experience preferably within a manufacturing or EMS environment.

  • Solid understanding of financial reporting cost accounting and inventory controls.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.

  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide junior staff.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.

  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools.
