Job Summary

Equity Research is part of J.P. Morgans number 1 ranked Global Research franchise. Each team is grouped by sector expertise and aims to provide actionable ideas and thematic insights that empower our institutional clients to make well-informed and strategic investment decisions. We bring clarity to complex situations through extensive sector knowledge and a deep understanding of global markets.

As an Equity Research Off-Cycle Intern you will be tasked with cultivating a deep understanding of equities markets and companies.Your role will involve collaborating closely with our top-tier team under the mentorship of senior analysts to create insightful reports on companies sectors and thematic trends. Beyond your immediate team duties you will be a part of a community of intelligent inquisitive and collaborative team members who are given substantial responsibility and exposure early in their careers. We provide extensive training and professional development across the department to support career progression.

You will spend your time exploring the sophisticated financial solutions we deliver across asset classes. The skills you develop and the professional network you build and support will serve as a solid foundation for your career. Dedicated instructors and J.P. Morgan professionals will teach you about our history the scale and scope of our organisation today and our exciting plans for tomorrow.

This off-cycle internship is a three month programme and is the pipeline to an immediate conversion as a full-time analyst (performance-dependent). This programme is an opportunity to take your career to the next level through hands-on experience relevant skills training and valuable professional networking. Based on your personal and collaborative achievements those who successfully complete the program may receive offers of full-time employment for the analyst programme.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with senior colleagues in the team to provide thought-leadership to institutional clients
  • Maintain and update valuation models and databases
  • Prepare materials for the regular publication of research reports including data analysis and presentation
  • Contribute to the writing of research reports including quarterly results alerts stock reports and thematic pieces
  • Communicate with internal clients (Sales Traders and Sales-Traders)
  • Stay abreast of company and industry developments

Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; you can engage and influence partners and stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm for a team-focused environment where each individuals insight and expertise is valued
  • An analytical approach to building and maintaining financial models
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Relationship-building skills you should feel comfortable connecting with a wide range of individuals have the ability to communicate clearly concisely and confidently both to colleagues and external clients and possess a talent for distilling complex issues into specific conclusion

Preferred Qualifications Capabilities and Skills

  • Strong modelling skills with the ability to forecast

To be eligible for this off cycle internship you should be set to graduate in 2025 and you must be fully available to undertake an internship between September - December.
