40Job Description Summary:
Under the general direction of the Manager of Application Services for Information Technology is responsible for providing the principal business and application support for assigned service groups departments and applications for Marin General Hospital (MGH). The individual will provide implementation support and consulting services acting in a lead role as required by customers according to established practices and standards set in the IT Department. The Application Analyst III serves as a key onsite resource and collaborates closely with end users management other IT staff consultants and vendors to ensure maximal benefits/optimization are obtained from new or installed systems at Marin General Hospital and that realistic expectations are maintained. The Application Analyst III is required to know and understand the user areas and be capable to consult educate and assist user areas with application utilization and knowledge of assigned applications per user area.Job Requirements Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
EDUCATION
1. Bachelors degree in Business Administration Accounting Health Services Administration Computer/Information Science clinical or a healthcare related field preferred.
2. Post graduate course work and/or certification highly desirable.
EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum of seven to ten years demonstrated experience in applications analysis management implementing and supporting systems in a hospital setting.
2. In addition to McKesson experience with modules in their area of expertise hospital operational experience gained through working within an ancillary or patient care department either in a systems or operations support capacity is required.
3. Application and technology implementation experience highly desirable including competency in standard IT project development phases.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Calif Drivers Class C (CALC) Required at hire
PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Demonstrated knowledge of applications in the Marin General Hospital environment currently primarily McKesson products current information technology including hardware software operating systems interfaces networking and major technology trends.
2. Experience with structured systems analysis technical project planning/management and interdepartmental coordination.
3. Ability to work independently and lead a team of IT Staff and end users prioritize tasks and respond appropriately to urgent needs or requests while meeting deadlines and budget limitations in a largely project-oriented work environment. Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and problem solve independently
4. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously demonstrating initiative creativity resourcefulness and flexibility including Team Leading and project management duties.
5. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience and commitment to developing training materials policies and procedures change control documentation and conducting oral presentations.
6. Ability to analyze information to form logical and consistent conclusions and to communicate the logical process to customers and co-workers.
7. Demonstrated enthusiastic customer service orientation and ability to work tactfully and diplomatically at all times is essential.
8. Demonstrable experience with software modules such as MS Office Suite Windows Current Version and Report Writers such as Crystal.
9. Demonstrated knowledge of Hospital Operations in the area of expertise or assignment.
10. Demonstrated ability to perform troubleshooting tasks at a high and complex level.
11. Demonstrated ability to perform duties in a flexible manner responding to contingencies as they arise and coping with a stressful environment.
12. Provides leadership to the Applications Team assisting the group manager as needed and teaching and mentoring to advance the skills of team.
13. Demonstrated ability to establish and enhance relationships within the work environment especially with customers.

The compensation for this role listed on this posting is in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidates compensation will be determined based on the individuals skills experience internal/market equity factors and qualifications. This posted minimum and maximum range represents the minimum and maximum of what we reasonably expect to compensate for the position. Furthermore all compensation decisions are ultimately determined in accordance with our compensation philosophy. Compensation for positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by the agreements in the aforementioned document.
