ABOUT LIGHTHOUSE:

A Lighthouse is needed to help guide the way; to emit a light that helps navigate turbulent times and warn against the possible dangers ahead. Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers is just such a place guided by its core values of hope dedication and community.

As a Clinical Training Specialist you will provide staff training for continuing education for licenses or certifications will monitor required staff training and assist in developing a skill competency program for clinical staff.

To meet the increasing needs of our communities it is imperative that all team members understand and successfully reach and maintain the expected performance standard levels. In order to achieve total and sustainable success each person must do their part. Lighthouse will do its part in providing any and all necessary tools and training required to help team members be successful.

DEFINITION:

Under immediate to general supervision by the Manager of Training prepares and conducts trainings for Lighthouse clinical and non-clinical staff. Leads the compliance department with continuing education process as well as other tasks in the compliance department. Maintains the requirements of the Licensing boards and Lighthouse policies. Attends continuing education workshops especially for Evidence Based Practice (EBP) modalities assigned to enhance expertise and monitor effectiveness and fidelity of the framework. Prepares and provides trainings as needed. This position works closely with the Chief Clinical Compliance Officer (CCCO) regarding Lighthouses Zero Suicide Initiative. Works with CCCO and Chief Clinical Officer regarding CCBHC training and education to outpatient staff.

Qualifications and Benefits

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a Masters degree in a mental health related field. Clinical license as an LPC LMFT LCSW or LADC-MH preferred. May consider an applicant with a bachelors degree in a mental health or education related field depending on experience.
  • Must display understanding of trauma and trauma informed care co-occurring disorders and behavioral health issues as it relates to providing training to enhance the skills of behavioral health counselors care coordinators and peer support staff.
  • At least 1 year experience developing training programs or educational courses which includes designing learning objectives curricula and materials. Must have experience presenting training or education courses using a variety of training methods such as lecture e-training structured exercises role play or group discussions as well as developing power points handouts or videos.
  • Must understand and have experience with different learning styles and the ability to develop training that is inclusive of those various styles.
  • Experience providing training or education courses in behavioral health care preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Must have experience writing training curriculum and developing programming for education and enhancement of skills in staff.
  • Must have the ability to provide training courses and workshops to large groups of individuals both within Lighthouse and the general public. Must be able to engage audiences in the training material.
  • Must have knowledge and/or willingness to learn the various types of Evidenced Based Practices and have an understanding of effectiveness and fidelity to the specific model.
  • Must have excellent computer and technology skills. Must be proficient at developing power point presentations excel spreadsheets and producing data. Must be able to learn various software programs quickly.
  • Must be willing to accept constructive criticism for training improvement.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as liaison between professionals community groups
  • businesses and other agencies.
  • Exceptional skill in dealing with the general public in sometimes difficult situations while
  • maintaining courtesy and diplomacy.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions and technical or legalterminology.

Skill in exercising good judgement in analyzing situations and making decisions; in organizing and presenting facts and opinions clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other agency personnel and governmental representatives; and organizing and conducting several projects simultaneously.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties:

  • Able to work with team members department supervisors and clinical staff with clear communication courtesy and diplomacy.
  • Develops and implements training informational and/or educational programs courses curricula training resources lesson plans materials and visual aids.
  • Delivers training courses and workshops to Lighthouse team members. Delivers training courses and workshops to outside professionals and the general public as required.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of programs courses curricula training resources lesson plans materials and visual aids and modify to meet identified problems/needs state/federal requirements and agency goals/objectives.
  • Research evaluate and select materials handouts visual aids and exercises that will best promote learning.
  • Works with training staff to identify staff training needs and assist in developing curriculum for identified trainings. Will work with other departments as needed to assist in development of training curriculum.
  • Updates training guides to ensure compliance with ODMHSAS training requirements.
  • Meets with all new hires at onboarding to orient them to their training requirements. Participates in providing face-to-face training courses during the onboarding period. Monitors their progress while new hires are in the training department and follows up with each employee to ensure that they have completed their training requirements within the specified time frame. Reviews requirements for training requests so that new hires understand the process of requesting training throughout their employment. Assists new hires in understanding the CEU requirements of their license or certifications if needed. Welcomes new staff to Lighthouse during onboarding and provides direction and assistance to new staff in a manner that meets agency core values.
  • Notifies and reviews annual training requirements on all employees.
  • Maintains applications for Lighthouse to provide Continuing Education Units (CEU) with various Oklahoma Boards. Understands and maintains documentation on all Lighthouse training to justify approved CEUs with licensing boards. Works with ABHC Education Hub portal for advertising appropriate training.
  • Proficiency in agency on-line training portal Relias Learning Management System.
  • Creates follow-up surveys for training participants and uses results to create and/or improve training. Provides periodic reports to CCCO regarding training feedback.
  • Monitors staff training and ensures staff compliance with ODMHSAS training requirements. In conjunction with compliance assists in ODMHSAS site reviews and contract audits regarding training requirements.
  • Employee must be willing and able to perform all job related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Must meet satisfactory expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation coaching and/or Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Must complete Lighthouse required training and resulting follow up and consultation as required at hire annually and as directed by Supervisor.
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.
  • In addition must possess skill in working cooperatively and effectively with staff management and other professional and community groups; in exercising mature judgment in dealing with people; in presenting ideas clearly and accurately; in reading and comprehending the English language; and in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.

Must perform the specific job duties as listed above to meet position expectations.
