Department: Cardiovascular Investigations Unit
Reports to: Manager Cath Lab 
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Shifts: 0700-1500
Status: Temporary Full-Time (End Date April 18 2026)
Closing Date: August 6 2025

Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Investigations Unit (Cath Lab) is a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization facility in the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre (PMCC) at the Toronto General Hospital. The Cath Lab uses innovative equipment and digital technology serving patients on a regional national and international level performing approximately 7000 procedures a year. The Cath Lab is home to world-renowned clinicians who use minimally invasive techniques and innovative procedures to treat a wide range of patients with complex heart disease. Procedures performed in the Cath Lab include: 

  • Coronary Angiogram and Angioplasty
  • Complex Adult Congenital Interventions
  • Structural Heart (e.g. percutaneous valve replacement ASD Closure MitraClip)
  • Complex High-Risk and Indicated PCI with or without Mechanical Circulatory support
  • Cardiac Biopsy
  • Electrophysiology studies 3D Mapping and Ablations
  • Pacemaker and Defibrillator implantation


Duties

  • Maintains responsibility for the ordering receiving (directly from the vendor) and re-stocking of implants and non-stock items on the unit
  • Communicates effectively with other inventory/procurement team members vendors and leadership team any supply chain issues
  • Responds to and resolves concerns regarding par level back ordered overstocked damaged expired or sub-standard product within scope of authority
  • Collaborates MDRD in ordering and receiving/restocking reusable medical devices
  • Maintains responsibility for the ordering receiving reconciliation and return of loaner equipment
  • Assists IR Operations Lead and Division Heads with maintenance of accurate par levels and documentation. Including: daily inventory loaner equipment and trial evaluation requirements
  • Collaborates with frontline nursing/MRT staff to ensure accurate reconciliation of implant counts

 


Qualifications :

  • Completion of a college diploma program in relevant discipline or recognized equivalent
  • Two (2) years related experience in medical imaging operating room hospital environment and/or medical office environment preferred 
  • Completion of Operating Room related courses preferred
  • Experience in interventional radiology preferred
  • Experience in an OR/interventional setting an asset
  • Ability to preform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to handle frequent changes to volume of work and priority of tasks with short notice
  • Exercise initiative and good judgement with the ability to multi-task
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements
  • Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills
