RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

requires an

Integrated Employee Support Specialist

(Attendance and Well-being)

(Commencing Immediately)

LOCATION: RCDSB Board Office 1270 Pembroke Street West

HOURS PER WEEK: 35 hours per week

SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Assistant Manager Human Resources the Integrated Employee Support Specialist is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of attendance support and best practices across the Board.

RATE OF PAY: $81590 $93984

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Human Resources Management Health Science Social Sciences and/or equivalent level of education and at least three (3) years of relevant related experience;
  • A designation in a relevant field is considered an asset (i.e. CHRP CDMP etc.)
  • Experience working with a unionized setting is considered an asset;
  • Experience in school board environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing administering and coordinating the Ministry of Educations Policy and Program Memorandum (PPM) and the Boards Attendance Support Program;
  • Support a culture of well-being that promotes regular attendance at work by developing innovative strategies to address absenteeism challenges and impact positive attendance;
  • Support and coach employees on strategies to improve and maintain positive attendance and promote the Boards EFAP and wellness resources;
  • Coach and mentor supervisors/managers on managing attendance and lead attendance support meetings as required;
  • Lead the Employee Wellness Committee including creating awareness about relevant health matters providing access to tools and programs that support the Boards wellness interests and goals;
  • Measure the quantitative and qualitative results of attendance support and other related programs to support continuous improvement;
  • Monitoring analyzing tracking and identifying trends of absenteeism through attendance data;
  • Producing statistical and analytical reports on absence occurrence for all employee groups;
  • Providing appropriate support within the scope of the position;
  • Facilitates and leads attendance support meetings to understand reasons for absenteeism and to develop strategies to support regular attendance;
  • Ensures that absence reporting protocol is being adhered to at all times and works collaboratively with Principals Managers HR staff and Supervisors regarding staff absences;
  • Completes the year end process for absence records (annual statement rollover of credits allocation of new credits) as required for different employee groups and oversees sick leave allocation for all staff;
  • Monitors and adjusts data transferred from Smart Find Express automated absence reporting system to the Attendance Support software;
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality;
  • Excellent facilitation and problem-solving skills driven by a client focused philosophy;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work both independently as well as a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Solid working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations including Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations Employment Standards Act Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and Human Rights Legislation.

Travel:

  • Valid class G drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Travel within the District is required.
  • Occasional travel within the province may be required.
