Job Description
The Tax Associate/Senior Tax Associate will support AGPMs tax function. This position will report to the Senior Director Accounting & Tax and will be primarily responsible for preparing partnership tax returns evaluating partnership agreements researching tax-related items and other duties. Salary commensurate with experience.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare federal and state tax returns with focus in partnerships
Assist in the management of 3rd party tax consulting firms and review preparation
Evaluate and interpret partnership agreements
Track partner capital accounts inside and outside basis
Research and consult on various tax matters primarily in Sub-Chapter K-Partnership Taxation
Utilize tax related software to prepare and process returns
Research tax matters
Ability to respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
Other duties as assigned
Prepare reports for upper management finance department etc.
Work collaboratively with accounting team within organization
Analyze key financial data
Prepare financial reports on a determined schedule
Present financial reports and estimates to decision makers within the organization
Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise
Investigate and provide feedback on accounting irregularities
Experience & Certifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Masters in Tax preferred
CPA preferred.
One to three years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office suite and tax preparation software (CCH Axcess suite etc.)
Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in tax compliance partnership returns and various information returns.
Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Strong critical thinking skills
