Minimum Qualifications:
HS/GED plus 4 years Pharmacy Tech Experience or Bachelors Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Registration
ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician training
National Technician Certification(PTCB)
Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. or higher degree; business/accounting courses
Competent in all areas and technician roles
Previous experience as a pharmacy buyer
Previous experience with 340B
Previous management or team leader experience
Specialized certificate or certification (i.e. PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate 340B Certification etc.)
Strong math skills; excellent communication & organizational skills
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Focuses on providing copay assistance for retail medication to patients in need Collaborates with other staff to expand efforts and organize workflow
Works with manufacturer patient assistance programs and utilizes platforms needed to apply for assistance
Develops and maintains reporting metrics needed to track productivity for copay assistance
Assists with adjudicating medication fills and refills
Has exceptional understating of EPIC Willow Ambulatory/Hyperspace and how to navigate
Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations
Research patient data and previous fills
Performs regularly scheduled and organized follow ups with patients to ensure active and timely copay assistance
Communicates professionally and efficiently with patients and other department staff
Troubleshoots and communicates with billing
Maintains appropriate records and paperwork electronic and/or paper
Answers and receives phone calls directing to appropriate area when necessary
Works alongside Specialty Copay Assistance Supervisor to maintain patient PB billing requests and credits issued to the pharmacy
Full understanding of 340B requirements guidelines and processes
Monitors program policies and staff work to ensure all are in adherence with the 340B program
Monitors and submits monthly AKDC claims in a timely manner
Has exceptional understanding of EPIC Willow Ambulatory and how to navigate Assists pharmacists with patient outreach and answers phones regularly
Communicates professionally and efficiently with patients and other staff
Maintains appropriate records and paperwork electronically and/or paper
Delivers medication to employees/patients in a timely and accurate manner
Promotes a safe working environment and maintains clean work surfaces in all dispensing areas
Complies with all departmental and institutional policies and procedures
Documents all cleaning activities and duties on the appropriate log sheets
Understands how to operate all equipment (CII safe Parata Max Rover printers etc)
Maintains Parata Max inventory levels restocking when needed
Assists in weekly and monthly duties such as cycle counts return to stock drugs and expired drug pulls
Promptly reports to supervisor or other appropriate individual if there are any deficiencies or problems with any equipment facilities or drug distribution
Assists shipping department if needed
May perform other duties as assigned
