Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Coach to join our girls varsity hockey program. The ideal candidate will support the Head Coach in driving player development strategizing game plans and fostering a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and executing practices and training sessions (on-ice & off-ice)
Support game-day strategy line shifts and opponent scouting
Attend and travel to all games tournaments and team events
Help with player recruitment and skill development
Supervise athletes in locker rooms at practices games and during travel
Uphold academic behavioral and sportsmanship standards
Collaborate with Head Coach school staff and families
Qualifications:
Experience playing or coaching hockey at high school prep or collegiate level
Strong knowledge of game fundamentals tactics and safety
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to mentor student-athletes and build team culture
Certifications (e.g. CPR/First Aid); willingness to complete VPA-required training
Ability to pass school background checks
** Compensation & Benefits:**
Stipend position. Pay based off experience ($2000-$3000 range)
