Kubernetes Admin
Kubernetes Admin will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the operational systems processes and infrastructure required for all service offerings being developed that assist clients on their Managed Service Delivery. This individual will work with one or multiple clients to gather requirements and the corresponding work needed based on the clients Delivery roadmap. They will manage the day-to-day business of operations including various stakeholders and internal and external delivery partners.
Responsibilities
- Install configure and maintain Kubernetes clusters in production staging and development environments.
- Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implement security best practices to protect Kubernetes environments and secure containerized applications.
- Manage Kubernetes networking components including Ingress controllers and Service Meshes.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as upgrades backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Optimize resource allocation using Kubernetes features like namespaces resource quotas and limits.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement containerized applications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to development and operations teams regarding Kubernetes best practices.
- Document processes policies and configurations related to Kubernetes administration.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Solid experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
- Proficiency in containerization tools like Docker.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Google Cloud or Azure.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI).
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Understanding of networking concepts and configurations within Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus Grafana or ELK stack.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technology field preferred
- Certification in Kubernetes (e.g. Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA).
- Experience with service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
- Strong working knowledge of ITIL principles and ITSM
- Current understanding of industry trends and methodologies
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

- Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities
