Job Description
Job Title: Senior Backend Developer Java &
Location: 100% Remote Canada
Experience: 7 Years
Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Backend Developer with deep expertise in Java and to support the development of scalable backend systems. The selected candidate will work on enterprise-grade applications collaborating across global teams to deliver robust microservices and cloud-native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Design and support microservices-based architecture for high-performance systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust secure APIs
- Support backend development with where required
- Integrate and manage applications using AWS services such as Lambda EC2 S3 IAM and DynamoDB
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines DevOps processes and system monitoring tools
Must-Have Skills
- Strong experience building backend services with Java and Spring Boot
- Proven expertise in developing and maintaining microservices in production
- Hands-on experience with in live environments
- Proficiency in AWS services (Lambda EC2 IAM S3 DynamoDB)
- Good understanding of REST API design security practices and performance optimization
- Ability to troubleshoot and tune backend systems in production environments
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation
- Experience with observability tools like Prometheus Grafana or OpenTelemetry
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaboration tools
- Ability to contribute to architecture discussions and design reviews
