Understand curriculum and support academic instruction for students unable to attend school due to health or psychological reasons.
Participate in General Education Homebound (GEH) meeting or ARD committee meeting for assigned students.
Demonstrate knowledge of and implement Individual Education Plan (IEPs) and 504 plans for assigned students.
Collaborate with teacher of record to provide instruction that the student would have received in the classroom taking into consideration the cognitive effective and physical abilities of each student due to the current medical and/or psychological condition and treatments.
Demonstrate organizational and time management skills to effectively serve multiple campuses while also managing frequent schedule changes and interruptions.
Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be self-driven and independent while supporting and working with students central staff campus staff and parents.
Develop a cadence of how instruction will flow from the teacher of record to the student to meet the students instructional needs.
Facilitate the implementation of instructional activities and assigned tasks provided by the students campus teacher of record.
Utilize appropriate technology needed to enhance and deliver instruction.
Maintain accurate records for enrollment attendance and instructional logs per program requirements and compliance related regulations.
Identify and obtain all necessary instructional materials from the students campus and teacher of record.
All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification as appropriate.
Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
Provide instructional support in the students home understanding that there is an inherent risk when entering the students home.
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned; all these duties are allowable per the guidelines of the grant.
Bachelors degree in a directly related field; valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned.
Teacher Certification (SPED Content and other endorsements)
Must have content certification to serve GEH students.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic technology used in education
Demonstrated knowledge of current curriculum goals and instructional practices.
Demonstrated ability to work with professional peers in a cooperative effort.
Demonstrated organizational communication and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
