Introduction
The Department of Services for Children Youth and their Families (The Delaware Childrens Department) primary responsibility is to provide and manage a range of services for children who have experienced abandonment abuse adjudication mental illness neglect or substance abuse. Our services include prevention early intervention assessment treatment permanency and after care.

For more information please visit Statement Interns will gain hands-on experience in resource navigation client support and inter-agency collaboration. This role is ideal for students interested in: Social Work Human Services Public Service Housing and Homelessness Community Outreach or Advocacy FIRST uses a family and youth engagement model focused on strength-based individualized support. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals deepen their understanding of housing systems and make a real impact in the lives of Delaware families. Assisting clients in completing housing and resource applications Helping clients gather important documentation (e.g. Social Security cards birth certificates) Contacting community agencies to verify housing or service availability Conducting outreach to landlords to identify available rental units Researching and tracking new or emerging community resources The application and supplemental questionnaire are evaluated based upon a rating of your education training and experience as they relate to the job requirements of the position.
