Provides direct supervision of assigned custodial employees and ensures consistent compliance for implementation of the districts standardized cleaning and safety processes for all campuses and facilities. Directs all campus-level activities including evaluation scheduling and inspection of facility cleaning activities and maintaining effective relationships with campus administration. Administers organizes and conducts departmental training programs aimed at establishing effective cleaning strategies for district buildings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct supervision of all custodial personnel including operational support and departmental standards.
- Conduct monthly inspections of District facilities for quality control checks to ensure all standard requirements for cleanliness are met and develop improvement action plans as needed.
- Review policies and procedures and ensures safety standards are maintained by all personnel.
- Assist management in ensuring strategic planning initiatives are aligned with departmental objectives.
- Assist in the development and design of training programs that develop personnel and support departmental goals.
- Implement and/or provide individualized and team training at each assigned facility aimed at promoting best cleaning practices operational support of HVAC heating and cooling systems troubleshooting for problem identification and work order tracking.
- Maintain accurate records including but not limited to employee training inventory of equipment cleaning schedules and personnel scheduling.
- Ensure the required staffing levels are satisfied daily for consistent and sustainable cleaning levels.
- Provide initial training for new hires and remedial training for incumbents as needed.
- Evaluate with recommendations regarding custodial equipment and supply needs and provide delivery of custodial supplies and equipment as needed to maintain effective and efficient operations.
- Coordinate projects and new initiatives with District staff contractors and vendors regarding as needed for implementation of programs.
- Maintain good and positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers principals department directors and District staff as needed regarding building issues and needs project status follow up of work orders etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises assigned custodial employees including campus Lead custodians.

- Five (5) years of directly related experience including experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Experience in training and education or professional development experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability.
- Demonstrated ability to determine and evaluate training objectives.
- Knowledgeable of heating cooling and ventilation equipment.
- Basic skills and computer literacy in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and Word).
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and prepare written reports.
- Excellent organizational interpersonal and budgeting skills and experience.
- Maintain a valid Texas Drivers License and driving record that meets District standards.
- Ability to speak and/or interpret Spanish is a plus.
