Job Description

Boart Longyear is the worlds leading provider of drilling services drilling equipment and performance tooling for mining and drilling companies globally.

We are currently looking for an experienced Sonic Drilling Supervisor to join ourteam. Candidates with a demonstrated history of working to strict safety and quality standards in a Management capacity are strongly encouraged to apply.

The successful applicantwill be well presented with an excellent attitude towards safety and possess a strong team-leadership focus. About the Role:

  • Provide ongoing coachingto develop your team.
  • Address any performance or conduct issues as they arise in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Co-ordinate and allocatework as required to meet drilling plans and run rates in the most cost effective/efficient way while meeting safety compliance requirements including theco-ordination of relief team members as required.
  • Complete and approve dailyrig reports to send to contracts administrators for payroll and clientinvoicing requirements.
  • Provide technical advice tostaff to effectively manage rig operations.
  • Conduct daily shiftmeetings.
  • Liaise with the Project Leaderregarding the progress of the drilling program.
  • Safety leadership and assisting team members with thedevelopment of thorough risk assessments and job safetyanalysis.
  • Report all safety hazardsor workplace injury/illness to the client and management immediately.
  • Lead investigations of allincidents / hazard management issues that occur in the work area and on shift andensure effective corrective actions are identified implemented and monitoredin a timely and productive manner.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Extensive Sonic drillingexperience at a Supervisory level.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Good communication skills written and oral
  • First Aid/CPR required
  • H2S required
  • CSO required
