POSITION: Transportation Operations SupervisorREPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Transportation ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:The Transportation Operations Supervisor is accountable to the Assistant Director ofTransportation for the direct supervision of Transportation Liaisons 7D Van Drivers7D Monitors and other Worcester Public Schools (WPS) operations role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and supports thegoals and policies of the Worcester Public Schools. The supervisor is expected tocommunicate professionally and effectively with staff students parents schooladministrators and others to convey expectations and ensure operationalexcellence. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Responsible for assisting the Director of Transportation and Assistant Director of Transportation:1. Supervision and evaluation of Transportation Department Liaisons.2. Supervision and evaluation of 7D Van Drivers and Monitors.3. Supervision and evaluation of White Fleet drivers.4. Oversight and management of operations office functions.5. Monitoring driver and monitor adherence to schedules including report timesand return times with road observations as needed.6. Coordinating transportation operations on non-school days when students arebeing transported including weekends.7. Addressing the needs and concerns of parents principals drivers andmonitors.8. Investigating customer service complaints and recommending appropriatecorrective actions.9. Performing other related duties as QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Massachusetts Drivers License Ability to remain flexible and exercise sound judgment in emergencysituations Sensitivity and awareness of the unique needs of students with disabilities Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations Positive professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational abilities and attention to detailPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Bachelors Degree in Business Management Communications or DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to regularly enter or exit the school bus using three points of contact. Employee is also required to talk hear stand and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to handle feel and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
