The Cara Fuentes Labs focus is on Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome and the goal is to identify novel predictive and therapeutic targets to help individualize patient care and provide more accurate prognosis and better therapies for children with kidney disease. Particularly the candidate will primarily focus on the crosstalk between circulating immune cells and glomerular cells including endothelial cells and podocytes. The Lab research is highly translational and combines the use of large number of human samples state-of-the-art cell culture approaches and different animal models of proteinuric kidney disease. Secured Appointment is for 3 years in length with possibility of expanding.
