Full-Time Hourly Position
$24.50 per hour

Summary: The Family Support Specialist (FSS) Coach is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with families social service agencies stakeholders and the broader community. This role includes conducting systems-building activities family engagement education initiatives and outreach efforts to connect families with necessary resources and services. The FSS Coach is a cross-trained position designed to deliver a range of evidence-based services to families and youth based on program requirements and agency needs. Assists families in meeting basic needs and adapts to other tasks or modalities as required to ensure program success and align with funders expectations. Duties and caseloads are assigned by the supervisor considering the specific services or modalities being provided. This position does not serve in a formal supervisory role over employees. Instead it is responsible for monitoring and supporting fidelity to the service model mentoring peers and ensuring quality and compliance in service delivery. The scope of work is subject to change as needed to ensure all projects are completed. Likewise complementary changes may be made to projects or individual goals and employee expectations based on agency/management strategic goals. All Center for Children team members are expected to be collegial and collaborative mutually supportive and focused on excellent services to clients fidelity to program models and ethical provision of services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct outreach activities to engage and recruit families and community partners through health fairs presentations marketing campaigns and networking opportunities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with families community leaders and partner organizations.
Deliver services through assigned modalities including but not limited to Circle of Security Parenting Safe Care Be Strong Parent Cafs Empath Mobility Mentoring etc.
Conduct intake assessments provide referrals and deliver personalized support services to families.
Provide personal instruction demonstrate educational activities and deliver research-based materials on child development parenting and related topics.
Facilitate group activities and programs such as Parent Cafs to foster caregiver connections and strengthen families.
Distribute and document the provision of basic needs to families ensuring accurate records.
Responsible for monitoring and supporting fidelity to the service model mentoring peers and ensuring quality and compliance in service delivery. This position does not serve in a formal supervisory role over employees.
Conduct quality assurance checks on documentation data entry and service delivery to ensure compliance with program standards and funder requirements.
Document services accurately and timely including assessments progress notes and outcomes to support billing and program reporting.
Conduct quality assurance checks to maintain data integrity and adherence to reporting guidelines.
Support the preparation of reports and evaluations by verifying the accuracy of collected data.
Participate in ongoing program planning monitoring and evaluation activities to enhance service quality and effectiveness.
Use Reflective Practice to assess service quality identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
Complete all required Family Support Specialist/Coach training and any training mandated by relevant program models.
Stay current on program modalities and serve as an expert resource for the team.
Monitor fidelity to program modalities (e.g. Circle of Security Parenting Be Strong Parent Cafs Safe Care Empath Mobility Mentoring etc.) and provide constructive feedback to maintain high standards.
Act as an advanced trainer leading both initial and ongoing training for Family Support Specialists on program models service delivery and compliance requirements.
Support onboarding of new employees through hands-on training shadowing and personalized mentoring.
Assist in monitoring training compliance ensuring all staff complete required training and certifications.
Accurately complete and oversee data entry for all services provided ensuring compliance with program and funder requirements.
Participate in and lead Reflective Supervision sessions to support the professional growth of staff.
Assist in planning and executing community events that promote child abuse and maltreatment prevention.
Support communication and marketing efforts including face-to-face interactions online content and print materials.
Represent the agency at community meetings health fairs and other events to promote services and recruit families.
Adhere to professional standards of social work or human services practices as well as agency and program model policies procedures and guidelines.
Employ strengths-based methods to empower families and build resilience.
Collaborate with the supervisor and team members to align efforts with program goals and funder requirements.
Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet program and family needs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support program success and agency goals.

Minimum qualifications
Employees providing services to clients must meet the requirements of the program model or funder for the project to which they are assigned. In general the Center prefers that client-serving staff:
Have a bachelors degree in social work early childhood or a related human services field.
A minimum of 23 years of experience delivering evidence-based services (e.g. Circle of Security Parenting SafeCare Be Strong Parent Cafs or similar) with demonstrated competence in service fidelity documentation and participant engagement.
Additionally 12 years of experience providing coaching peer mentoring or training to staff in a social services or early childhood setting is preferred and may be required depending on the program model.
Experience in coaching training program compliance or leadership with strong interpersonal organizational and problem-solving skills to support families staff and partners.
Ability to read write and speak English and Spanish fluently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and familiarity with data entry and management systems.
Strong time management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Must have a valid drivers license reliable transportation and maintain insurance coverage at or above Texas minimum requirements.
Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with agency policies and funder requirements.
Must be willing and able to travel for required trainings meetings and conferences.
Physical ability to walk sit stand and lift/carry up to 25 pounds.

The scope of work is subject to change based on the teams performance and the funders expectations and on agency/management strategic goals. The flexibility needed in this role includes scheduling meetings/events/activities scheduling supervision sessions with staff training staff meetings and out-of-town travel for training and/or grant requirements.
