ReStore is a home improvement social enterprise that accepts donated goods from businesses manufacturers contractors and the public. Donations are then processed and sold at discounted prices. The stores earned income helps fund the programs of Habitat Chicago while its operations increase the visibility of Habitats impact within the its efforts ReStore also facilitates recycling and helps minimize landfill waste.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Front of House Assistant Manager supports daily retail operations at the ReStore ensuring an exceptional volunteer donor and customer experience. This role supports sales floor merchandising donation intake volunteer engagement and team coordination working closely with the ReStore Manager to create a safe welcoming and productive environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Key Responsibility: Merchandising (50%)
The ReStore Assistant Manager Front of House will ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels assortment and presentations. This role will consistently demonstrate responsibility for the ReStore look and feel establishing a neat clean and organized environment that includes creative engaging and well merchandised displays flexibility and proactive maintenance.
Key Responsibility: Retail Floor Operations (20%)
The ReStore Assistant Manager Front of House oversees the Point of Sale maximizes available display space and uses inventory control and pricing to ensure appropriate turnover of merchandise. This on the floor work will be done in conjunction with a team of staff and volunteers to achieve sales and operations objectives and lead staff to exceed expectations.
Key Responsibility: Sales Performance and Management (15%)
This role will oversee project management of annual plan goals tied to brand experience and merchandising and front of house operations that improve customer and donor experiences.
Key Responsibility: Volunteer Management (15%)
This role will assist with preparing and managing volunteers by leading groups and individuals in task and project execution.
Key Responsibility: Staff Management and Training (ongoing)
People management is essential to ReStores success and this role will provide leadership that drives an excellent ReStore experience staff development donations sales and profits of Chicago ReStores to further Habitat Chicagos mission. This includes:

Hours: Full-time including weekends; evenings and meetings as required.
Supervises: A team consisting of several ReStore Ambassador(s)
Environment: The Habitat Chicago South ReStore is located at 6057 S Western in Chicago. It is accessible by car or by public transit. The ReStore Assistant Manager - Front of House will have a desk computer and phone line in an office.
Conditions: Ability to safely lift and position up to 50 pounds. The job entails occasional bending kneeling and reaching often in awkward or tiring positions. 50% of the time is spent walking and standing in the showroom managing staff and assisting customers.
Compensation: $48000- $51000 annually. 30 vacation/sick/personal days per year. 90% employer paid healthinsurance:access to vision dental lifeand 401k plans with 5% match.
FLSA Status: This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It does not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.
Training:Thepositionwill begin with an onboarding period to become familiar with the organizations work and policies; they will be trained on the specifics of the role through a combination of in-person online and written trainings and will be expected to take the initiative to review materials as needed and seek understanding of new developments in order to perform their responsibilities.
