Job Description
As a Financial Analyst in Amazons IT Finance team you will play a pivotal role in shaping the companys global technology infrastructure decisions and investments. This high-impact position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to drive data-driven insights that influence Amazons large scale investment decisions. Youll lead complex financial modeling and analysis to optimize IT investments and infrastructure costs while developing sophisticated metrics and KPIs to track technology spend effectiveness and ROI. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth analysis of capital asset lifecycles partnering with IT leadership to identify cost optimization opportunities and creating compelling data visualizations and executive-level reports. This role offers exceptional visibility with your work being presented to and reviewed by senior leadership including the CEO and CFO. Your analysis and strategic recommendations will have a direct influence on Amazons technology foundation and employee productivity initiatives driving company-wide technology infrastructure strategy. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial modeling capabilities excellence in data visualization and executive communication and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. Financial Analysis and Modeling:
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate IT investments and track service performance
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of IT service offerings projects and business initiatives
Create and maintain metrics and KPIs to measure technology spend effectiveness and ROI
Analyze trends in capital asset lifecycles to optimize value and inform replacement strategies
Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts for senior management review
Budgeting and Cost Optimization:
Analyze budget variances and provide actionable recommendations
Identify and execute cost optimization opportunities across the IT portfolio
Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed initiatives and investments
Support location strategy analysis to optimize global IT infrastructure costs
Process Excellence:
Implement and maintain best practices in financial management and analysis
Develop standardized reporting templates and analytical frameworks
Ensure data accuracy and integrity across financial reporting systems
Drive process automation and efficiency improvements in financial operations

- 3 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4 years of identifying leading and executing opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Bachelors degree
- 4 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)

The base pay for this position ranges from $60200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128800/year in our highest geographic market.
