Were hiring a full-time W-2 Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide K 12 school-based services for the school year. Position Details
- Caseload: Multiple positions available mostly 1:1 support positions
- Schedule: Monday Friday
- Hours: 37.5 40 hours/week
- Dates: August 2025 May 2026
- Location: Onsite in North Carolina
Responsibilities
- Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in academic and social settings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers special education staff and support teams to ensure access to instruction
- Interpret classroom lectures discussions and extracurricular activities
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards and school policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions when appropriate
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate s or Bachelors degree in interpreting or related field preferred
- Valid RID certification or EIPA score of 3.4 or higher preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working in educational settings strongly preferred
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
- Reliable professional and student-centered
