Job Description
Position: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Mother Baby
Start Date: 8/4/2025
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Marshall MI 49068
Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM 12
Shift Notes: 36-Hour Guarantee
Weekend Requirements: Holidays/Weekends rotating and possible call
On-Call Requirements: Holidays/Weekends rotating and possible call
COVID-19/FLU Requirement: na
Traveler Policy: Candidates Permanent Address (Facility will not consider local candidates - 50-mile radius restriction)
Birth Center: 11 LDRP rooms 3 triage rooms 1 OR
RN to patient ratio: 1:1 for active labor magnesium sulfate and Pitocin induction of labor; 1:3 couplets 1:2 early labor patients
EMR: Cerner
- Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients using critical thinking and independent judgment
- Uses all phases of nursing process including assessment diagnosis planning implementation and evaluation
- Responsible for the direction and supervision of the nursing patient care team typically made up of CNAs LPNs and other techs
- Collaborates with own team and other disciplines in the provision of care
- Documents patient care patient condition reactions and response to treatment promptly and tracks patient progress.
- 2 years of current Birthing Center experience - Required
- Experience with laboring patients delivery (newborn care at delivery) and postpartum (moms and babies) - Required
- Prior travel experience - Preferred
- NRP - Highly preferred - Oaklawn will consider RNs without the active certification must be willing to obtain!
