Location: 222 Jarvis Street Toronto ON (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
Client: Government Services Integration Cluster (Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement)
Start Date: August 5 2025
End Date: March 31 2026
Duration: 8 Months (with 84-day extension possible)
Job Description
The Senior Software Developer will play a critical role in designing developing automating and deploying cloud-native applications and DevOps solutions to support a modern modular government IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Monitor and optimize application performance in Azure cloud environments.
- Automate tasks including code integration testing deployment and infrastructure management.
- Build cloud-based solutions using Microservices JEE Spring Boot APIs Logic Apps and Power Automate.
- Design and test frontend applications using React/Angular.
- Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Create and execute detailed test plans including performance and unit testing.
- Support production systems and create monitoring procedures.
- Document solutions and conduct technical knowledge transfer sessions.
Experience & Skillset Requirements:
DevOps & Infrastructure
- 5 years in DevOps with tools like Azure DevOps Git Docker Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines infrastructure automation and monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud environments (Azure AWS GCP).
Java & Cloud Solutions
- 10 years in Java/JEE Spring Framework REST/SOAP APIs and Microservices.
- Experience in frontend technologies: React/Angular JSON HTML/CSS.
- Hands-on with container orchestration (AKS) IAM OAuth.
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG AA compliance).
RPA/ML & Low-Code
- Experience with AI/ML tools: Azure Document Intelligence OpenAI Cognitive Search.
- Knowledge of OCR data classification model training.
- Proficiency with Power Automate Logic Apps and RPA workflows.
Testing & Reporting
- Strong background in unit integration and performance testing.
- Tools: Postman SoapUI JMeter.
- Experience with Power BI reporting.
Communication & Teamwork
- Effective communicator with collaborative mindset.
- Able to provide updates documentation and participate in technical discussions and knowledge transfer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in production support and incident management.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Ansible).
- Knowledge of security networking and system resilience in cloud platforms.
MUST HAVES:
A DevOps specialist in production support ensures seamless system reliability by rapidly diagnosing and remediating issues optimizing infrastructure and automation and driving continuous improvements through collaboration and data-driven recommendations.
1. Incident Response & Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Quickly diagnose production issues identify underlying causes and recommend remediation strategies.
2. Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise Deep understanding of AWS Azure or GCP including networking security scaling and resilience.
3. CI/CD & Automation Proficiency in building robust pipelines Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Ansible) and automated recovery workflows.
4. Monitoring Observability & Performance Tuning able to optimize systems for reliability.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Works with cross-functional teams to propose fixes lead postmortems and enhance processes and architectures.
