Job Description

Job Title: Structural Project Engineer
Location: West Sacramento CA
Job Type: Full-Time Direct Hire

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our team in West Sacramento. This role is ideal for a motivated engineering professional eager to contribute to innovative structural design projects and grow their career. The position is responsible for managing the technical components of projects from concept through completion including planning designing and coordinating with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in engineering or residential wood construction a degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience) and a strong grasp of design principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate structural systems including lateral gravity and foundations with a focus on light-framed wood construction

  • Provide value-engineering alternatives and recommendations

  • Participate in internal quality control and peer review processes

  • Coordinate project deliverables with clients architects and project teams

  • Respond to plan review comments from jurisdictional authorities

  • Conduct on-site construction observations as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2 6 years of structural design experience in wood-framed construction (degree or licensure preferred but not required)

  • Proficient with engineering software and technology tools

  • Ability to analyze troubleshoot and solve problems effectively

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Detail-oriented with sound decision-making abilities

  • Knowledge of building codes regulations and permitting

  • Familiarity with MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) systems is a plus
