Job Description
Job Title:- Middleware Administrator // IBM MQ Administrator
Location :- Dallas TX / Tampa FL / Jersey City NJ
Experience Required: 8
Employment Type: Contract
Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Administrator to manage and support IBM MQ on distributed platforms. The candidate must possess deep expertise in IBM MQ architecture administration and security as well as experience with scripting and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain IBM MQ (Distributed Platform) environments
- Configure and troubleshoot APM6 (Application Performance Management) and OBM (Operations Bridge Manager)
- Implement queue managers queues channels and MQ security settings
- Monitor performance and ensure high availability and disaster recovery
- Automate tasks via scripting (Shell Python etc.)
- Collaborate with infrastructure application and security teams
- Maintain compliance and documentation standards
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Core: IBM MQ (v9.x and above) MQSC commands MQ Explorer
- Platforms: Linux/Unix/Windows distributed environments
- Scripting: Bash Shell or Python for automation tasks
- Monitoring Tools: APM6 OBM
- Security: TLS/SSL setup MQ security configuration
- Networking: TCP/IP firewalls load balancers (as related to MQ)
- Soft Skills: Troubleshooting documentation team collaboration
