JOB TITLE: Facilities Engineer - DEFENSE
LOCATION: Palmdale CA
PAY RATE: Up to $70/hour
We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary:
-
Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for hard bids negotiated bids and design-build projects
-
Analyze project plans specifications and contracts to identify cost risks and opportunities
-
Develop and maintain cost breakdowns for labor materials equipment and subcontractors
-
Conduct site visits and engage with project stakeholders to gather data and validate estimates
-
Collaborate with project managers engineers and architects to ensure accurate estimates
-
Stay current on construction methods materials labor rates and market conditions
-
Provide expert input on cost-saving opportunities value engineering and risk mitigation
-
Maintain and update estimating tools databases and spreadsheets
-
Participate in bid and scope reviews to support pre-construction and project planning
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors suppliers and industry partners
Requirements:
-
Ability to Obtain a secret clearance
-
Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field
-
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Estimator (CCE)
-
Minimum of 5 years experience in construction estimating
-
Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and industry trends
-
Proficiency in estimating tools such as Excel Timberline or similar software
-
Exceptional analytical communication and problem-solving skills
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
-
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Masters degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field
-
Additional certifications (e.g. LEED AP PMP)
-
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM)
-
Familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g. Procore PlanGrid)
-
Experience on large-scale commercial industrial or government construction projects
