Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Works with Key Account Managers to prepare long-range forecast (18 months) by sku for each customer
  • Analyzes order history and prepares demand forecasts in order to maintain order fill rates and inventory turns to the Business Units goals
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of Continentals current forecast by analyzing how well it predicted the prior months order volumes
  • Reports forecast accuracy and steps taken to achieve desired target. Coordinates shared stock keeping units (sku) to ensure forecasts are in line with all known customer demands
  • Maintains the forecast assigned customers and coordinates the sharing of information
  • Maintains APO (Advanced Planning Optimizer) Continentals SAP forecast module within its ERP software suite tool for feeding information into the supply chain functions of Continental
  • Leads collaboration process with key customers
  • Interface with customers and sales teams to obtain information needed to make accurate forecasting decisions
  • Coordinates with Product Planning to ensure smooth transitions when skus are dropped and/or added to assigned product lines to minimize excess or obsolete inventory and out of stocks. 
  • Works with Continentals product development team and Launch Manager to create a smooth transition in and out of product introductions and removals to ensure good product coverage and fill rates for new tires and low inventory and reduced discounting and scrapping of discontinued tires.
  • Builds Tableau Reports that helps the department to analyze their customer requirements seamlessly and forecast accuracy
  • Monitors Continentals Winter Tire program. Tracks orders and matches forecast to orders and limits the possibility of over producing unneeded product resulting in large discounts or even scrapping of tires
  • Perform and coordinate demand planning software trainings

Qualifications :

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or related 
  • 5 five years of professional experience in forecasting including: analyzing sales and order history for a business unit and generating forecasts of future demand used in the planning of production and or the utilization of resources and capital
  • 5 years experience: using Microsoft Office Suites Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel products to create presentations and spreadsheets utilizing pivot tables graphs and advanced formulas
  • 5 years of inventory planning experience; establishing inventory targets and managing phase in and phase out of new products
  • Experience in leading collaboration meetings with direct and indirect customers
  • Prior experience working with Demand planning software tools
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is only able to offer visa support for internals individuals who currently hold an existing valid employment visa
  • Can offer relocation if needed

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT 

  •   Institute of Business Forecasting and Planning (IBF) certification CPF/ACPF
  • 7 years of related Demand Planning experience
