Job Description
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate various pieces of equipment as needed in the manufacturing of compost and soil amendment along with stockpiling and loading of various products
- Perform vehicle safety inspections and fill out inspection forms
- Operate articulated loaders water truck tractor with scraper composting (Scarab) machine silage push tractor and any other equipment deemed necessary in a safe and efficient manner
- Monitor oxygen level moistures and temperature on compost and make adjustments in watering and turning as needed for quality and compliance issues
- Keeping accurate records of hours and activities compost logs as required by regulatory agencies and departmental needs.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform Duties of Driver Loader Utility positions or any other task needed as deemed necessary my management.
Qualifications :
- Must be able to operate front-end loaders tractor and scraper forklifts composting machine and off-road use of water truck and truck- trailer combinations
- Ability to operate all plant equipment and machinery including rolling stock (trucks/trailers forklifts loaders man lifts)
- Ability to perform a variety of strenuous physical tasks including lifting (up to 100 lbs.) working in confined spaces ability to work at heights (70 feet) climbing up/down ladders and stairs bend stoop kneel crawl stand and reach on a daily/repetitive basis
- Ability to perform a variety of strenuous physical tasks in all types of weather including: lifting 50 lbs. working in confined spaces climbing up and down ladders or steps and walking long distances in the taking of temperatures and oxygen levels in compost rows
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Good mathematical organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and understand job related manuals
- Ability to identify variables in product and adjust process as needed to compensate
- Able to work varying shifts weekends and overtime as needed
- Excellent attendance record
- Clean DMV printout
