MUST HAVE 5 YEARS OF GLASS FORMING / GLASS PLANT MANUFACUTIRNG EXPERIENCE to qualify for this position.
The Forming Services Manager is responsible for maintaining overall plant goals safety and production efficiencies. This position is also responsible for developing techniques to correct and improve the overall safety quality and performance of the ware making process.
The Forming Services Manager will:
- Ensure quality and productivity by monitoring and performing mechanical visual and informational system checks.
- Review shift operations and make recommendations regarding how plant. operations can further improve to meet service quality safety and productivity goals.
- Work with functional leads to ensure the quality of the ware is in accordance with customer requirements.
- Provides forming technical support and assistance.
The Forming Services Manager should have:
- The ability to provide long term strategy for improvement of forming operations to achieve budgetary and performance goals.
- The ability and competencies to lead the training of forming personnel. This includes IS Machine apprenticeship program as well as Operators.
- Working knowledge of IS Machine maintenance and Mold Shop Services.
- Working knowledge of glass conditioning (forehearth temps maintenance drops lengths etc.).
- Understanding of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- The ability to drive the job change process as well as improve job change performance.
- Experience in creating and implementing a PM plan that yields a reduction in downtime and improves job performance.
- The ability to drive accountability of the forming department by mentoring and leading Job Change Coordinator as well as Process Specialists Machine Repair Supervisor and Mold Shop Supervisor.
- The ability to drive best practices and adhere to company fundamentals and processes.
- Good communication skills and the ability to coach counsel and discipline employees.
- The ability to respond to plant needs during off hours in person when situations arise that their technical expertise are needed.
Qualifications :
- High School diploma required
- Required: Minimum of 5 years of glass forming/glass plant manufacturing experience required in a leadership capacity
- Experience supervising people and processes in a manufacturing environment

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $130000 and $150000 and includes a possible 15% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
