Job Description
AECOM Arabia is seeking We are seeking an experienced Director-level Digital & BIM Lead to spearhead the digital strategy and BIM implementation for a landmark mixed-use mega project. This role will be embedded within the client and consultant team ensuring seamless integration of digital workflows innovation and collaboration across all project phases. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in BIM digital construction and data-driven project delivery with a proven track record in large-scale complex developments.
This role is critical to shaping the digital future of the projectblending technical mastery with strategic leadership to deliver excellence at scale
Digital & BIM Strategy Leadership
- Define and implement the project-wide Digital & BIM strategy aligning with client objectives consultant teams and contractors.
- Establish BIM execution plans (BEPs) standards and protocols compliant with international best practices (ISO 19650 PAS 1192).
- Drive digital transformation initiatives including AI IoT and automation to enhance design coordination construction efficiency and asset lifecycle management.
Project Collaboration & Coordination
- Act as the primary digital interface between the client consultants contractors and stakeholders ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
- Lead multi-disciplinary BIM coordination resolving clashes optimizing workflows and ensuring model integrity across architecture structure MEP and civil disciplines.
- Oversee Common Data Environment (CDE) management ensuring secure version-controlled and accessible project information.
Innovation & Technology Integration
- Identify and implement cutting-edge digital tools (e.g. VR/AR digital twins 4D/5D simulation) to enhance decision-making and project visualization.
- Promote data analytics for performance monitoring risk mitigation and predictive modeling.
- Ensure compliance with smart city/digital asset handover requirements for future operations (COBie IFC).
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Mentor and lead a high-performing digital/BIM team fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Conduct training and workshops for stakeholders to ensure digital adoption and competency.
- Present progress reports KPIs and ROI analyses to senior leadership and clients.
Skills
- Ability to maintain and build client relationships
- In-depth knowledge & experience of the built environment across multiple disciplines which include but not limited to: Architecture Structures MEP Engineering Civil Engineering Landscape Architecture & Interior design.
- Initiative-taking / Self-motivated task management skills and able to take responsibility & accountability of duties.
- Excellent organisational skills and time management
- Resilient to cope with conflicting demands able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure & tight timescales
- Ability to think strategically at program and project level with an in depth understanding of client challenges and attention to detail.
- Excellent digital data and reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects including taking responsibility for ensuring all projects are performing in accordance with their contractual obligations and adherence Digital governance processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal - able to convey complex ideas and messages in a simple and straightforward way. Problem solving & creative thinking and influencing skills.
- Seeks out innovation and best practice across all areas of the role brings innovative ideas and creative thinking to client work as well as across the design teams.
- To lead and liaise where appropriate with members external partners associated organisation & contractors
- To seek continuing professional development thorough knowledge of and compliance with AECOM procedures and standards
- Sound knowledge and understanding of both KSA building regulations is an advantage
Qualifications :
Requirements
- Have an Industry recognised diploma or degree in Architecture Engineering Construction Management or related field; professional certifications (e.g. PMP BRE BIM Certification) a plus.
- Able to use a variety of digital media in the development and documentation of outputs / deliverables requested
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- Flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and commitment to independent lifelong learning
- Responsible self-assured motivated and able to take responsibility / accountability
- Willingness to listen and learn from all members of the team
- Exceptional communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven expertise in mixed-use developments (high-rise retail hospitality infrastructure).
- Mastery of BIM software (Revit Revizto Navisworks Dynamo Solibri) CDE platforms (ACC ProjectWise ACONEX) and emerging tech (Digital Twins Unreal Engine).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 openBIM standards and global BIM mandates.
- Excellent people skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team
- Minimum of 15 years industry experience in built environment in BIM/digital construction with 8 years in leadership roles on mega projects (>$500M).
- Arabic /English speaking an advantage
