Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inventory Control / Maintenance Clerk to join our team at a steelworks facility in Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate receipt storage and issuance of materials tools and equipment. This role supports the maintenance team by ensuring timely availability and proper documentation of inventory while adhering to safety and operational standards in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive inspect and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and delivery documents.

Accurately log inventory data into the inventory management system (ERP/WMS).

Store items in designated storage areas following safety and organization standards.

Issue materials tools and equipment to maintenance/production crews based on job orders and requests.

Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.

Time Entry for Mechanic work hours into Oracle

Responsible for Check out / Check in function within Oracle for Asset repairs

Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors of low or excess inventory

Maintain a clean safe and organized warehouse environment.

Prepare and pack outgoing shipments as needed.

Identify damaged or non-conforming items and escalate appropriately.

Operate forklifts pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.

Collect parts from external suppliers if required

Comply with all site safety policies and OSHA regulations.


Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driving License
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control warehousing or stores in an industrial or manufacturing environment (preferably steelworks or heavy industry).
  • Experience with inventory software systems (e.g. SAP Oracle or similar).
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel Outlook).
  • Forklift certification is preferred or the ability to become certified.
  • Strong diligence and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions on a steelworks site.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Mobile Plant Equipment etc.
  • Familiarity with safety standards in heavy industrial settings.
