Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a mission-focused Junior System Administrator to support Navy enterprise IT environments. This role is responsible for assisting in maintaining servers networks and cybersecurity compliance across classified and unclassified systems. Youll work closely with senior administrators and cybersecurity personnel to ensure system availability security posture and performance in support of Fleet operations and depot modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows ensuring consistent uptime and secure configuration
- Perform routine maintenance: patching backups log reviews and system health checks
- Monitor and respond to incidents alerts and user support requests
- Document network/system configurations and standard operating procedures
- Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field (or AA degree with 4 years experience)
- 3 years of hands-on experience in network and systems administration preferably in a DoD environment
- CompTIA Security Certification
- Working knowledge of Windows Server Active Directory and basic networking principles
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD IT environments
- Some Experience with enterprise tools such as SCCM WSUS or SolarWinds
- Some Knowledge of PowerShell scripting or automation tools
