The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation chaired by Dr. Heakyung Kim provides services at Parkland Memorial Hospital Clements University Hospital and their affiliated outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work with residents fellows and medical students in one of the largest PM&R training programs in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Program Expansion: Lead and oversee the comprehensive development of the PM&R Stroke program ensuring the highest standards of care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Clinical Excellence: Provide expert care to patients recovering from stroke and brain injury utilizing the latest rehabilitation techniques and evidence-based practices. Coordinate care within multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Mentorship & Education: Engage with residents fellows and medical students in one of the nations largest and most respected PM&R training programs. Provide mentorship and guidance to the next generation of healthcare professionals fostering an environment of learning and growth.
Research & Innovation: Promote and support clinical research initiatives within stroke and brain injury rehabilitation with opportunities to contribute to groundbreaking studies aimed at improving patient care and outcomes.
Administrative Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program ensuring efficiency quality control and adherence to institutional policies and goals. Collaborate with medical directors and hospital leadership to drive strategic initiatives and improve the programs offerings.
Collaboration & Partnerships: Work closely with colleagues across various medical specialties including neurology neurosurgery and nursing to provide coordinated care to stroke and brain injury patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign equivalent
Board certified/eligible
Eligible for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment
