Performs highly skilled technical work with responsibility for the maintenance repair installation and removal of radio communications equipment. Troubleshoots and tests emergency communications CAD systems. Exercises technical independence in determining work methods and procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Radio Systems Administrator. Work is reviewed through observations conferences progress reports and the general operating condition of the radio computer and paging systems. The employee be required to adjust to flexible work hours to accommodate operational issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree with two (2) or more years experience in the Radio Communications field; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required. Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) member 911 Certification and valid Florida CDL desired. BDA/DAS experience is preferred. Polygraph required with the exception of current OPD employees.
