We Require
Three years of experience working with animals in a veterinary hospital humane society or another animal facility (may include volunteer work)
One year of experience in a supervisor role
High school diploma or GED
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Must be flexible and able to work all shifts which include starting as early as 5 am and finishing as late as 8 pm working weekends and holidays determined by the needs of the Department

Job Contributions
Perform core supervisory functions including recruiting scheduling performance management providing feedback and managing staff concerns or complaints to support achieving established metrics and upholding standards for animal care and customer service
Coach employees to address performance deficiencies and implement corrective action and performance improvement plans when needed
Train monitor and support daily care activities to ensure the highest standards of animal care including cleaning feeding animal movement monitoring and assistance with adoptions
Deliver exceptional customer service to the public volunteers and internal stakeholders and ensure the team upholds the same service standards
Conduct routine audits to ensure proper safety protocols disease management proper sanitation and service delivery are being delivered to remain in compliance with ACC standard operating procedures and ensure legal compliance
Collaborate with multiple divisions to ensure continuity of care animal movement and accurate communication
Maintain detailed and accurate records providing reports as necessary
Work with the ACC Leadership team to review and update policies and procedures
Working Conditions
Work is predominantly performed in an animal shelter with exposure to extreme and varying temperatures excessive noise dogs and cats with unknown temperaments or behaviors animal waste and fluids deceased animals cleaning chemicals and zoonotic diseases
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on all types of surfaces that are sometimes slippery uneven and rough
Must be able to lift up to 50-100 lbs. occasionally 10-25 lbs. frequently or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly
