Job Description Summary

The Stroke Research Program Coordinator provides clinical research support for the Stroke Research Center on the PCORI Funded TEAMS-BP trial. The Study Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining patient enrollment and screening logs assisting in specimen collection and handling as well as arranging patient follow up visits. In addition this individual will be responsible for de-identification of patient data and obtaining relevant clinical and demographic information about enrolled patients. This individual will be present in clinic weekly and assist in enrollment of eligible patients. This individual will also maintain local CRF files and check on specimens during storage. He/she will collaborate with the CCC for IRB and regulatory reporting.

Job Description

Job Duties:

35% The PC-I will coordinate and assist with tracking of all research participants which includes recruitment screening and scheduling of research participants. Coordinates appointments when needed with other members of the Stroke Research team. Reviews list of scheduled patients 48 hours in advance and confirms appointment status via a telephone appointment reminder.

35% Coordinate all phases of clinical trials and assists the Stroke Research Team with regulatory management. (i.e. study start-up/initial submission enrollment study visit completion data entry query resolution annual renewals amendment processing and closeout activities).

20% Enter data into a computerized database and manage ongoing organization of patient data files.

10% Serves as liaison between the patient and the PI regarding consent forms for patient enrollment and for scheduling of study procedures. Collaborate with all members of the research team in developing and implementing strategies for the effective management of the research studies. Coordinate with nurses tech and other hospital services as required. Attend all multi-site study coordinator meetings (in-person and virtual).

Minimum Requirements: A bachelors degree and one year of relevant program experience. (Infrequent) Ability to lower objects up to 15 lbs. from height of 36 inches to floor level unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to push/pull objects up to 15 lbs. unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision corrected in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. (Frequent) Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance. (Frequent) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Frequent) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity with correction. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Frequent)
