The Opportunity:

In this position as the Director of Finance/Advancement Controller for the WSU Foundation you will report to the Associate Vice President Chief Financial Officer of the Washington State University Foundation (AVP/CFO) and oversee the administration of $750 million in assets and $155M in annual contributions. Among your responsibilities you will be managing the audit process for the WSU Foundation and its subsidiary corporations as well as serving as the staff liaison to the WSU Foundations Board Audit and Investment Committees. In addition you will compile annual and quarterly tax returns and other compliance reports; provide financial reporting compliance and analysis for WSU Foundations endowments and investments; prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and oversee the year-end closing process; as well as maintain relationships with the banks where WSU Foundation has accounts. You will also be responsible for financial oversight of a $2B comprehensive campaign. Additional responsibility will be overseeing a team of Financial Analysts.

This is a full time 100% FTE permanent position. This position is overtime exempt.
*This position is located in Pullman WA and may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after the training period with the expectation to work in the office at least 3 times per week*
Monthly Salary: $7542 - $11795.78 Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelors degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis. A Masters degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Five years of related accounting experience.
Experience in administering internal controls.
Strong customer service focus.
Experience overseeing the audit process of a complex organization.
Experience collaborating with and managing external vendors including auditors.
Aptitude to compile manipulate and analyze data and present to end-users in a useful manner.
Demonstrated effective project management skills including ability to be flexible to manage multiple projects as well as to prioritize competing and shifting demands/needs of stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working for a higher educational institution 501C3 or Advancement unit.
Experience managing financials within Workday.
Experience working with a non-profit board and/or board sub-committee.
